Conference "The social experiment as a responsible model for approbation of foreign experience in the field of youth employment"

On 30.09.2014, in Sofia, was held a conference on topic "The social experiment as a responsible model for approbation of foreign experience in the field of youth employment," which is part of the project BG051PO001-7.0.07-0048-C0001 "Without Borders in Employment". The project is implemented by Association "Bulgarian-Romanian Trans-border Mediation Institute", with the partnership of Searchlighter Services Limited, UK and the Bulgarian Employment Agency, as an associate partner. The project is implemented with the financial support of Operational Program "Human Resources Development", co-financed by the European Social Fund of the European Union under the scheme "Without Borders- Component 1" phase 2.

The conference was opened by the Executive Director of the Employment Agency- Asen Angelov. Moderator of the event was the Project Manager and Manager of the Association "BRTMI"- Ivaylo Ivanov, who briefly presented the project activities implemented till this moment. The main objective of the conference was to present, to the general public and concerned professionals, the results achieved within the conducted social experiment through which was approbated the British model for dealing with unemployed young people up to 29 years of age

During the first part ofthe conference Assoc. Prof. Dr. Todor Todorov, Expert Analysis within the project "Without Borders in Employment", introduced the results of the comparative analysis of Bulgarian and UK national policies for youth unemployment. There was a brief presentation, made by Chief Assoc. Prof. Tanya Ilieva- Trainer within "Without Borders in Employment", on the training module developed within the project and the results from the self-learning of a wide range of employees of the Bulgarian Employment Agency.

In the second part of the conference were presented the results achieved during the conducted, in the Directorate "Labour Office"- Ruse, social experiment, carried out for testing of the good practice, approbated and selected from the UK experience. The presentation was made by Tatiana Pashinova, Research Assistant within the project "Without Borders in Employment" and Manager of sector "Employment Services" in Directorate “Regional Employment Services”- Ruse. Sonia Kamenovska, a psychologist at Directorate “Labour Office”- Ruse, introduced the audience with the psychological aspects of the social experiment, and in particular with the methods, used by the professionals, to motivate young people up to 29 years, included in the experiment. The conference ended with an analysis and evaluation of the results of the social experiment, conducted by Prof. Dr. Maria Andreeva- Expert within the project "Without Borders in Employment."

During the final discussion, at the end of the conference, the attending guests shown undisguised interest towards the conducted social experiment as many of them asked questions and shared opinion about the project. The audienceexpressed its willingness to be introduced with the future achievements of the project.
